Queenston Investment Limited is honoured to invest the production of the epic film 《1146》, a timeless cinematic project that vividly tells the extraordinary story of the Nanqiao Mechanics during the Second World War II. 

On 17 December 2024, the highly anticipated epic film 《1146》, a landmark co-production uniting Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore, was officially unveiled at a prestigious press conference at the Hwa Chong Cultural Center in Singapore. The film commemorates the heroic sacrifices of the ‘Nanqiao Mechanics’ during World War II. Approximately 200 distinguished guests from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore gathered to celebrate this historic moment and their collective effort to bring this inspiring chapter of history to life on the big screen.

The film chronicles the courageous efforts of the overseas chinese, led by the patriotic leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee, as they transported military supplies along the treacherous Burma Road. Their sacrifices and bravery are immortalized in this grand production that spans history and cultures.

《1146》 is not just a cinematic production; it serves as a profound representation of enduring bonds and global cooperation. The film’s significance is further highlighted by its alignment with key historical milestones, making it a meaningful cultural and commemorative work.                 

The film coincides with several important anniversaries:

  • The 35th anniversary of China-Singapore diplomatic ties in 2025.
  • The 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic ties in 2024.
  • The 80th anniversary in 2025 of China’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the global victory in the Anti-Fascist War.

 

                                                 

Mr. Ng Tse Meng, Honorary Chairman of Ruifeng Wealth Management, Chief Advisor to DH Wealth Management, and representative of Queenston Investment in Hong Kong, played a pivotal role in the event by facilitating key connections, including with Ms. Wu Jiaduan, granddaughter of the patriotic overseas Chinese figure Li Chengfeng.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures, including initiator Ms. Wu Jiaduan, investor representative Mr. Ng Tse Meng, Honorary Chairman of Ruifeng Wealth, Director Mr. Ma Yiteng from Ma Hu Film Production Company in Malaysia, producer Mr. Zhan Xianen, and Mr. Wang Tao from Mainland China, Huaying Jiashi (Beijing) International Culture Media Co., Ltd.

In the presence of many distinguished guests, Mr. Ng Tse Meng, along with other prominent investors jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a dedicated film fund to support the production of the film 《1146》.

The film, a collaboration between Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, and Singapore, represents the strong friendship between these regions and sets a new standard for cultural preservation and international cooperation within the Asian film industry. The film is not only a cultural achievement but also a significant effort to unite these regions for a shared historical narrative. The film aims to present an intriguing historical tale to audiences and we eagerly await its debut on the big screen.
